Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone

A new year means a new reading goal! I chose to start this year off with the beloved Harry Potter series. I was gifted the first three books in the series for Christmas so I only thought it right to start with those.

I vividly remember being introduced to Harry Potter at a birthday party in the first grade. We went to see the first movie in the theaters and of course had to leave with a souvenir wand! Needless to say that Harry Potter has since become a staple in my life. I’ve seen all of the movies more times than I can count but never read one of the books from front to back. And so this adventure begins!

I have now finished the first book and I loved every minute of it. From the developed vocabulary and personalities of the characters, to the vivid description of the settings. Imagining the movie scenes as I read, I also noticed the scenes that were not included in the movie. JK Rowling is a genius that is known for creating one of the biggest followings.

If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend…and I’ve only just finished book one.
