The Dead Romantics
THIS. BOOK. I can’t say enough good things about The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston. I was feeling all kinds of emotions while reading this book; sobbing one chapter and smiling from ear to ear the next. I loved every minute of reading this book and dreaded it coming to an end.
This story follows Florence Day, a ghostwriter for one of the most popular romance authors in the industry. A year after her break up with her ex-boyfriend, she doesn’t believe that love exists anymore (quite the challenge for a ghostwriter of a romance author) and when her new handsome editor refuses to extend her deadline, she is prepared to kiss her career good-bye.
Florence then gets a call that no one wants to get and must return to her hometown that she has been running from for 10 years to help her family bury her father. She soon comes to find everything that she has missed about her hometown, but without her father and she hates it. Until she answers the front door of the family’s funeral parlor and the ghost of her new editor is standing in front of her.
The rest? Well that’s for you to find out. 10/10 would recommend this book.
I won’t be able to stop thinking about this one for a long time.
