The Ex Hex

The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling is everything you want in a book during Spooky Season! The story follows Vivi and Rhys, two witches, 9 years after a summer fling and a silly curse that ends up not being silly after all. This book is full of small town, fall, Gilmore Girl vibes combined with Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown and the occasional steamy sex scene. Sterling states, “This is, at its heart, a book about families,” and the character development of not only Vivi and Rhys but also Vivi’s cousin, Gwyn and Aunt Elaine fully support that statement. You get to witness Vivi and Rhys develop a relationship between the two of them, as well as witness Vivi and Rhys build a relationship with Gwyn and Aunt Elaine and the occasional ghost or spirit! The vivid descriptions of the actions by each character and the setting of each scene make you feel as though you are walking next to Vivi and Rhys throughout the whole book. I 100% recommend this book to anyone looking for a spooky romantic comedy.
