Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop

I bought this book at an indie bookstore on National Indie Bookstore Day a year or two ago. I thought the idea of a story about a woman that got burned out working a corporate job deciding to live out her dream of opening a bookstore in a cozy little neighborhood was a cute idea.

I wasn’t wrong, it was a cute idea; and who doesn’t want to open a bookstore in a cozy neighborhood. For whatever reason, it took me forever to finish this book and I just couldn’t get into it, but I refused to stop reading it since I had already invested so much time in it.

The underlying messages of doing what makes you happy in life and how important that is to leading a healthy, happy life was a beautiful message that I feel some need to be reminded of occasionally.

While it wasn’t my favorite book, it felt good to branch out and try something different.
